Insanely Fun Yummy Lunch At Greens

Kia ora bloggers, in the weekend it was one of Te Ngahere students birthday and his name is Shivam, his lovely parents who own the Greens decided to let our class go there for lunch. Just so you know Greens is a restaurant. The food there tasted really delicious that I wanted more even though I was really full. We were so lucky we got to have some butter chicken, a can of fizzy and also our very own big easter egg. I found this really thoughtful and really nice. I really liked how the tables were all ready for us to sit and wait for our delicious butter chicken to come. There was nothing I did not enjoy because I enjoyed every second of it. To show our appreciation Angela and Jade gave Shivam a card that they made themselves with everyones signature on it. To show how grateful and to show that we appreciate them we sang them a few Waiata. In the last Waiata the boys did a haka and got told that we were definitely way louder than the whole school. Have you been invited to a reasuant for one of your school mates birthday?

The Most Interesting Learning Subject: Coastal Seas

Kia ora bloggers, in Te Ngahere we have been learning about coastal seas. We had to find facts to use them to make a DLO. We watched this documentary to get the facts off it and use those facts to make a DLO. I really liked learning about coastal seas because we got to learn a lot of facts about sea creatures. For example; sharks population is now 90%. My DLO will show you all of the interesting facts about the coastal seas that I found out and an amazing video. I learned a lot of interesting facts about sea creatures but this fact is the one that satisfied me; if you stay emotionless the sharks won’t detect you. I thought this was really interesting and amazing to learn about. Have you ever learned anything about the coastal seas before?

Learning How To Pronounce Maori Kupu Correctly

Kia ora bloggers, in Te Ngahere we have recently been using an app called Education perfect to learn how to pronounce Maori words correctly. I learned how to pronounce alot of maori words like Otautau and that means Christchurch. I thought this was an amazing idea because this could help us throughout the year because we are slowly learning how to speak Te reo maori. I really enjoyed learning how to pronounce these words correctly because I could go home and teach my family what I learned and use it to teach them. I found it tricky for some words to pronounce correctly but I got there in the end. Have you learned how to pronounce maori words correctly in your classroom?

Amazingly Fun Smart Surfing.

Kia ora bloggers, in Te Ngahere we have recently been learning how to Smart Surf. Smart surfing is about learning how to search up the right thing to get the right answer because if you search up a question that has (how) in it the web would go and find every page that has the word (how) in it. If you want to get the right answers there is something you need to use and that is called keywords, for example: What do spiders eat? You would find the most important word in that sentence and add more on but there are some words you can’t use like (the, and, to and for). So in other words simple everyday words. You would have to take out (what do and change eat into diet). Then you would be left with spiders diet. It would be better to search the right things by using keywords, it is only better to use them because you would get the answer you want faster and you also won’t have to read though a lot of things just to find your answer. Have you ever learned about smart surfing?
