Kia ora bloggers, on our first day back at school our teachers told us we are going to start our day with something fun, our teachers gave us a paper with a set of 23 instructions on it and the teachers also told us we are doing a reading test. Te Ngahere and I were really excited until the teachers said we are doing a reading test so we all started moaning until the teachers said we are doing this for a reason. The reading test was to see how well we follow instructions. The first instruction was to read everything carefully before doing anything. I read them all but I didn't read them carefully because the last step said ( Now that you have finished reading everything carefully, do only sentences one and two! Then draw quietly on the back of this paper while you wait for everyone else to finish!). So that's how I didn't read them carefully, and I chose to do them all because I did not read them all carefully. I thought this was really difficult because most of us didn't read the last instruction carefully and that made me a bit frustrated. To be honest I barely found this fun because when we were going through it with the class I now knew I was wrong. Have ever experienced something like this before?
CAN YOU FOLLOW DIRECTIONS?
This is a timed test--you have 4 minutes only!
Read everything carefully before doing anything.
Put your name in the upper right-hand corner of this paper.
Loudly call out your first name.
Circle the word NAME in sentence two.
If you have followed directions carefully to this point, call out "I have."
Draw five small squares in the upper left-hand corner.
Put an "X" in each square.
In your normal speaking voice, count from ten to one backwards.
Put a circle around each square.
Sign your name under the title of this paper.
After the title write, "Yes, yes, yes."
Put a circle completely around the sentence number seven.
When you reach this point, LOUDLY call out, "I AM THE LEADER IN FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS."
Put an "X" in the lower left-hand corner of this paper.
Draw a triangle around the "X" you just put down.
On the back of this paper, add 703 and 66.
Loudly call out, "I AM NEARLY FINISHED. I HAVE FOLLOWED DIRECTIONS."
Draw a rectangle around the word "corner" in sentence six.
On the reverse side of this paper, add 8950 and 9805.
Put a circle around your answer, and put a square around the circle.
Punch three small holes in the top of this paper with your pencil point.
Underline all even numbers on the left side of this paper.
Now that you have finished reading everything carefully, do only sentences one and two! Then draw quietly on the back of this paper while you wait for everyone else to finish!
