Amazingly Fun PAL day

Kia ora bloggers, at Paihia School we had a PAL day, for those who don't know what PAL day and (teina) means they mean (PHYSICAL ACTIVITY LEADER) day, and teina means our young kids in the younger classes. PAL day is when the PAL leaders put together some games for the whole school and we have a fun day. Thanks to Mrs Williams for organizing this awesome day. I really enjoyed participating in all the events and looking after all our little teina. There was thi thanks to Mrs Williams she has decided to have a PAL days game that I learned how to play and the game was called (rob the nest). It was a bit hard to get our teina to listen and participate but we got there in the end which made me really happy. Other then that the teina and I had a blasting day, thanks to all the PAL leaders, teachers, teacher aids and most of all Mrs Williams. Have you experienced a PAL day before at your Kura?

Serious Wacky Wednesday

Kia ora bloggers, today I am blogging about Wacky Wednesday Paihia School was dressing up for. Wacky Wednesday is a day when you dress up wacky. My favourite part of Wacky Wednesday is watching everybody looking wacky and enjoying themselves. I also enjoyed watching the teachers and staff dressed as their house group colour. We were reminded to not laugh at people but you are allowed to laugh with them, and especially don't tease them. Having to put on a costume would have taken a lot of courage to show up to school all dressed up. We were told who dressed up the wackiest would win a prize, but no one knew what any of the prizes were. I think some certain people in my class look great because it would have taken courage to be able to put on a certain costume but these people look amazing and they are also enjoying themselves. Have you dressed up on a wacky Wednesday?

Really Frustrating Image attribution

Kia ora bloggers, in Te Ngahere we have recently been learning how to attribute images. I have learned how to find out if I have permission to use online photos. I really enjoyed learning about image attribution because I was  able to learn new things. I think this could help me in the future because having this knowledge would save me from copyrighting and getting fined. I  The most frustrating part of this was finding the license number, but in the end I was able to find it.

Do you have the knowledge to know if you have permission to use any certain photos online?

Fun Mosaic Art.

Kia ora bloggers, in Te Ngahere we have recently been creating our own mosaic art to go with our Ngahere QR codes. During my time creating mine I learned how to use the polly line correctly. I thought this was a great opportunity to learn how to use different types tools to create our mosaic art. I kind of found this frustrating because everytime I stopped my line three times all of my lines would just disappear. But the positive side of this subject I enjoyed doing was able to learn something new.

Have you ever created your own mosaic art before during your time at school???

Keep up the great work!!!

Lessons Around Being Safe Online.

Kia ora bloggers, in Te Ngahere we have recently been learning how to be safe using our time online apps like instagram, tiktok, snapchat and games. So in other words any kind of apps that you are able to talk to other people. We watched a video of someone not being safe online. Because she talked to someone she didn’t know, And told him  personal information like her email address and phone number. But lucky she was smart and realized that she was doing something wrong. So she pushed the (report abuse) button on the app and the person she didn’t know went to jail. I learned that it's not good talking to strangers we don’t know on online. My reason is because we have no idea if they are who they say they are or if they live near you. To be honest I used to talk to strangers on online games until the teachers asked us if we are going to change something, so I changed by stop talking to strangers on online games. I enjoyed learning about this because we can teach other people to not talk to strangers on online games and apps. There was nothing I didn't enjoy because this is something that taught me how to be safe while I’m online.

Here is a good tip:

Don’t take photos of yourself in your school uniform and post it because they can just find your school and find you.

Do you think you are always being safe during your time online???

Exciting Fun Technology

Kia ora bloggers, on Tuesday the year 8, year 7’s and I went to Moerewa to do technology again. In Mr Edwards class, which I’m in we were carrying on with our own waka that we started making. I was filing my frame for my waka, and I was filing it to hard and then sadly my frame broke. So I had to restart. I learned that when we are filing or using sandpaper to file our waka, if you file it to hard it will break. And I know for a fact because I speak from experience. To make sure I don’t break mine again I now know to file it nice and softley. I enjoyed technology this week because I was able to learn something and that's good because I learned from my mistake. I didn’t enjoy restarting because I didn’t want to be the only one that's behind. But lucky it only took me like 4mins to catch up because I knew what I was doing. Have you ever had a project and you had to restart?

Fun PE Rotations

Kia ora bloggers, today I am posting about out PE rotations Te Maunga and Te Ngahere have been doing lately. Every Monday and Thursday we come together and get into our house groups, I’m in Pohutukawa. The other house groups were Rimu, Karaka and Kowhai. The game my group and I were learning around was soccer. My group and I were learning how to kick the ball, intercept and how to work as a team by sharing the ball. I learned how to intercept properly and how to kick the ball right. I really enjoyed doing this because I like learning around new sports because I play netball and I didn’t know how to play soccer. There was nothing I didn’t enjoy because I liked everything. Do you do PE rotations at your school with other classes?
